HALLOWEEN 2004

October 13th - Day 13

Not so Big Bad Wolf

The night before, when I should have been building a prop, we were at the hospital until 2 in the morning with a relative. By the time we got home it was way to late to fire up anything in the garage.

At 6 a.m. I rolled out of bed and stumbled to the garage. It was still to early to fire up the saws so I slammed a wolf prop together by using my screw gun and just fastening the pants and coat together with sheetrock screws.

Slapped some rebar in the ground to not only keep him from falling over but to add substance to his entire body. He's just filled with empty plastic shopping bags. The rebar kept him up and stable. If we'd had a big wind that day I'd have been in trouble. I didn't have him fastened real well.

Now the poor prop guy who I'd begun to call "Stan Stan the poor dead man" got thrown into action again. I bloodied him and the wolf up and called it a morning.

10 o'clock that evening I went to take the scene down. I touched the wolf and he slid down the rebar into a heap on the ground. I don't know what kept him up all day long but I'm sure glad for it.
